On December 8, Molly Morkowski, Tatjana Rankovich and Joseph Rubenstein, rising stars specializing in new music, present works of Louis Andriessen, David Del Tredici, Fred Hersch, Aaron Jay Kernis, David Lang, Lowell Liebermann (New York Premiere), Paul Moravec, and Joseph Rubenstein (world premiere).
"Composers have traditionally written their most imaginative and personal works for solo piano," explains Joseph Rubenstein, Artistic Director of Keys to the Future. "The piano tends to excite composers because of both its limits and its breadth of sonic possibilities. With five premieres and many other recent works, Keys to the Future will inform audiences as to how gifted contemporary composers are writing for this versatile instrument."
