Our concert calendar is available for listing all performances of contemporary classical music. Bach and Mozart would not be appropriate. If you are a performer or handle PR for a performer or organization and would like direct access to post your notices here, send us a note. If you don't feel that computer savvy, send the releases here and we'll post them for you.

Project One, in collaboration with Issue Project Room, presents The Aura Electric, Opus Three, featuring the Mat Maneri / Randy Petersen Duotwo of the most innovative and distinctive artists on the downtown improvised sceneand the Project One Ensemble performing works for electric string quartet (George Crumbs Black Angels and a world premiere by Michael Spassov). Opus Three will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 7:00 pm at Issue Project Room in Brooklyn. The Aura Electric, Opus Three explores the sound worlds of amplified strings by juxtaposing different approaches to composed and improvised electric chamber music. The relationship between composed and improvised music as well as the role of technology in music will be expanded through a discussion with the artists and audience and in a program essay whose departure point is Walter Benjamins concept of the aura of a work of art.
