Our concert calendar is available for listing all performances of contemporary classical music. Bach and Mozart would not be appropriate. If you are a performer or handle PR for a performer or organization and would like direct access to post your notices here, send us a note. If you don't feel that computer savvy, send the releases here and we'll post them for you.

The Kaufman Center presents Bang on a Cans Sixth Annual Peoples Commissioning Fund (PCF) Concert at Merkin Concert Hall on Thursday, February 3, at 8 PM. New Yorks electric chamber ensemble Bang on a Can All-Stars takes on new works by Carla Kihlstedt, Cynthia Hopkins and JG (Jim) Thirlwell, then welcomes special guest Philip Glass to the stage for a rare performance of his seminal early work Music in Similar Motion. The All-Stars are fresh from a U.S. tour with Glass in which they performed early works together with him to celebrate their new recording, Philip GlassMusic in Fifths (Cantaloupe Music). The program will also include one of the very first PCF pieces: Dan Plonseys The Plonsey Episodes (commissioned in 1998). A special edition of New Sounds Live, the program will be hosted by John Schaefer and presented in association with WNYC Radio.
