Alireza Mashayekhi was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1940. His works have been performed throughout the world, including performances by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, Radio and Television Chamber Orchestra of Iran, Iranian Orchestra for New Music, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tonk�nstlerorchester Vorarlberg, Ensemble 2001 Wien, Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Chamber Orchestra, American Brass Quintet, Ensemble Integral, and the Barbad Chamber Orchestra. His large catalogue includes an opera, works for large symphony orchestra (including eight symphonies, concertos for violin, contrabass, flute, clarinet, and two piano concerti), and numerous works for electronic, solo and chamber ensembles, including three string quartets. Mr. Mashayekhi is currently a professor of composition at Tehran University.
