Benjamin Lees� Violin Sonata #1 will be given its West Coast Premiere performance by violinist Yvonne Lam and pianist Natalie Zhu on Saturday, April 2 � 7 PM in the Zipper Auditorium of the Colburn School of Performing Arts, 200 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, California.

Ms. Lam had previously presented the Sonata on her January 17 recital at the Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia. This 17-minute work was premiered in February 1953 at the Brooklyn Museum by violinist Abraham Shevelov and pianist Ruth Bromberg and has been recorded by Ellen Orner for Albany Records.
