Zeno,
I have a couple of students who are at the AGO convention – they are having a great time!
Thanks for the info – wish I could hear this concert!
The American Guild of Organists Convention closes tonight at the huge Catholic Shrine, in Washington, D.C., with a concert of music for chorus and organs by James MacMillan, David Hurd, Olivier Latry, and David Briggs. I believe the MacMillan and Hurd works are world premieres. David Briggs and Renee Anne Louprette are the featured organists, with The National Shrine Choir under Peter Latona and The Washington Chorus, under conductor/composer Julian Wachner . The hour long prelude carillon concert also features music by living contemporary classical composers Roy Hamlin and John Courter – as well as Sibelius, Barber, and Hovhaness.
Thank You for caring about Organ Music enough to post this extremely difficult piece, in its original form, performed by the greatest 20th Century American Organist !
