Archipelago
Our New York based readers may want to check out the opening concert of Archipelago, the new concert series by New Amsterdam Records, at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn. It’s this Friday, September 25th, and will feature performances by violist Nadia Sirota and percussion quartet Line C3. Music by Nico Muhly, David T. Little, and Carl Schimmel, with premieres of pieces by Marcos Balter and Our Lady J.

I haven’t been to Galapagos since they moved to DUMBO, but the photo tour on the website makes it look great.
Thanks for the support and the kind words, Steve! We are very excited about the series, of course – and the artists on it are really pulling out all the stops, which is great to see.
The original Galapagos series was so great; I’m totally positive about this new series, and can bet anybody reading that they can pick anything out of it and end up enjoying a fantastic concert.
Quick note: In addition to Balter and Our Lady J, there’ll also be a premiere of a new piece by NewAm co-director William Brittelle. The piece is entitled “Future Shock” and is for viola and electronics.
