King Kong on Naxos

On December 14th, Peter Jackson’s re-make of King Kong will hit theaters. The complete film score from the 1933 original movie is available on Naxos, part of its Film Music Classics series, lovingly restored by John Morgan and performed by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra with William Stromberg.

Naxos Film Music Classics includes 14 titles—with many more on the way—of complete scores from such classic movies as The Maltese Falcon, Red River, Les Misérables, and Objective, Burma. Composers represented include Max Steiner, Adolph Deutsch, Franz Waxman, and Bernard Hermann as well as such well-known classical composers as Dmitri Shostakovich and Arthur Honegger.
